Arbitrary Waveform Programming for Electric Linear Drive

Arbitrary Waveform Programming allows the assessment of fatigue properties with loading conditions as close as possible to the true application environment.

Most true application environments where rubber parts or components are subjected to a dynamic load are not pure sine waves but other waveforms. This can be anything from shock / pulses to modulated sine waves.

With Arbitrary Waveform Programming the shape of the waveforms can be freely defined. The user can create / read waveforms in the computer software and download them onto the instrument. Further adjustment to frequency and amplitude of custom waveforms can be made on the instrument.

Custom waveforms can be squares, sawtooth, pulses (bring the motor to a specific set point as fast as possible and immediately return), rupture, modulated sine waves such as Sub-frequencies/harmonics, triangle, and more.

Arbitrary Test Sequence Programming

Arbitrary Test Sequence Programming allows the customer to set up dynamic test programs for the machines. A step-by-step sequence can be programmed to exactly replicate application or find the point when the part deteriorates.

All variables in any sequence can be executed: temperature, amplitude, frequency, time, cycles, and even curve shapes with the Arbitrary Waveform option.

CCD Camera System with MonFT Software and Computer

Samples can be inspected with a motorized CCD camera system for cracks and crack growth measurement. This system also includes the MonFT data acquisition software. The MonFT software allows full crack growth measurement in De-Mattia / bending testing mode MonFT allows you to remotely control the FT 3000 Fatigue Tester and manually control the camera. During the test sequence an online graph for all samples is shown, providing full information about crack growth and number of cycles performed.

This system includes:

  • • Automated lateral camera traversed by stepper drive
  • • Computer with Windows Professional 8 OS, LED monitor, keyboard, and mouse
  • • MonFT Software – free updates for life of machine

Sensor Grips for Cycle of Break in Tension Mode (per sample)

Allows counting of exact number of cycles until complete sample destruction/breakage in tension mode. Each position in the sample holder has a variable clamp for individual sample mounting; with an integrated, non-contact tension, precision sample sensor for exact detection of the cycle at sample failure. The time of failure (cycles, minutes, or seconds) is automatically stored.
